KINDERGARTEN

Our kindergarten program at 1, 2, 3 You ‘N Me, provides a nurturing and educational environment. We believe that education is a partnership where teachers, parents, and students all work together to teach the important things in life; the power of hard work, and the value of a strong moral character. With our small classroom size, we can focus on your child’s special needs. Our new enriched program teaches your child to become independent and self motivated. Our vision is to see your child leave our kindergarten program in the spring with the essentials and strong moral character to fulfill a lifetime of goals.

READING

The program begins with two stages: Early Emergent and Emergent to instruct, guide, and challenge readers as they move through a leveled progression of books. With Shutterbug Books, children experience a whole continuum of literacy skills in relation to the texts. Children are active learners during guided reading experiences where they read books at their level. As they read, children gain comprehension skills and develop specialized vocabulary. After reading, children’s learning continues with further explorations in the content areas.

MATH

Our Kindergarten math program, Everyday Mathematics, has a wide variety of curriculum standards. The purpose of the program is to:

  1. Acknowledge children’s experience and intuitions about mathematics
  2. Provide problem-solving experiences in real-life contexts while allowing for various learning styles
  3. Promote practice though meaningful activities and games
  4. Integrate content throughout the mathematics curriculum
  5. Provide a spiral curriculum, ensuring that children encounter and apply concepts over time, deepening mathematical understanding
